Gaelic Month 2022: Online Events & Free resources

May 1, 2022 | Events, Promotions

For over 20 years now, every May in Nova Scotia has been Gaelic Month, or Mìos nan Gàidheal. For Gaelic Month 2022, Bradan Press is celebrating with online book launch events, and a list of our free Gaelic resources!

But first, a bit about this year’s Gaelic Month theme. The official theme of Gaelic Nova Scotia Month 2022 is “Ciamar a tha sibh?” (How are you?)  Comhairle na Gàidhlig, the Gaelic Council of Nova Scotia, explains the theme on their website (where there is also a calendar of events):

“Because we have spent so long apart, we hope this phrase will bring us together as it is often the first thing you say when greeting someone in Gaelic. ‘Ciamar a tha sibh’ may be one of the only Gaelic phrases that people are familiar with, so we’re are encouraging people to use it as much as possible for the month of May as well as encouraging them to try to learn other words or phrases throughout the month to further their appreciation and understanding of Gaelic and our Gaelic culture.”

Bradan Press is proud to celebrate Gaelic Month 2022 in Nova Scotia with online book launch events, pop-up sales, and a list of our free online Gaelic resources, which you can enjoy from anywhere in the world!
