Announcing Gaelic Christmas Cards for 2025

This year Bradan Press is happy to offer Gaelic Christmas cards for sale with artwork created by pupils of Taigh Sgoile na Drochaide, North America’s first Scottish Gaelic immersion school (Gaelic-medium grades P–6). Taigh Sgoile na Drochaide is in Mabou, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia and is now a registered Canadian charity. Read more about their amazing work at www.taighsgoile.ca!

Christmas Card Description

The Christmas cards say “Nollaig Chridheil!” either on the front or the inside. Please see photos in our shop listings for details.
Cards are 4.25 x 5.5 inches (107 x 141mm) and come with matching white envelopes.
Bundles of 10 include 10 cards and 10 envelopes, tied with twine. Single cards include 1 card and 1 envelope, tied with twine.
Some of the cards have information about Taigh Sgoile na Drochaide on the back. Other cards have that information in a separate included leaflet.
Quantities are quite limited for many of the designs! If you can’t add more than 1 of an item to the cart, that’s because we only have 1 of that item in inventory. Thank you for your understanding.

Gaelic Christmas Card Sales to USA until Sep. 4

Due to the rapidly changing tariff situation, we can only accept Christmas card orders from US customers from Aug. 27–Sep. 4, 2025. US orders will be shipped from Maine via USPS on Friday, September 5.

You CAN combine a card order with a book order. We are also briefly re-opening Nova Scotia Gaelic flag orders for US customers until Sep. 4!

However, after Sept. 4th Bradan Press won’t have any more opportunities before Christmas to transport non-book items across the US border. As of this week, according to our cross-border shipping service, small shipments from Canada to the US are now subjected to a 35% US tariff regardless of manufacturing location. Prior to this week, the US had a de minimis exemption since 1938. With so much confusion and uncertainty around its elimination, a dozen countries are suspending all US-bound postal shipments this week.

We can still ship books to the USA tariff-free. Books are a special category of product that has been tariff-free under the International Economic Emergency Powers Act (IEEPA) and the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA). Canadian books remain tariff-free for now.

UK orders will be shipped from Glasgow by Royal Mail, September 15–18, 2025.

Gaelic Christmas Card Sales to Canada

Our Canadian customers can order the Gaelic Christmas cards through our Canadian dollar shop as usual! This shop only accepts orders from customers with Canadian billing and shipping addresses. (If your situation is different, please get in touch through our contact page.)

We still encourage Canadians to order as early as possible to get your first choice of card design(s), since quantities are limited. Ordering early could also help you avoid problems with slower Canada Post service due to the current overtime ban by the CUPW.

The possibility of a Canada Post strike remains, so if you can’t order this week, then please consider ordering as soon as possible! Ordering by September 30th would still be extremely helpful to us as a small Gaelic business. If not, then ordering by October 31st would also be amazing.
