Bradan Press is looking forward to an autumn full of bookish events! We’re celebrating book launches and vending at more in-person events than ever with our expanded offerings of Gaelic and English children’s picture books and graphic novels, poetry, and more. And new this year, alongside the books we’ll be selling some smaller gifts for stocking stuffing and holiday exchanges!

 

Events & Pop-Up Sales

 

Sunday, Aug. 21 – Vending at DCAF – Dartmouth Comic Arts Festival, Alderney Landing, 10am-4pm.

Sunday, Sep. 25 – Pop-up Gaelic book sale at the Cottage Café in Dartmouth on Sunday afternoon, outdoors! We’ll have some SECONDS available at discounted prices, too! – CANCELED DUE TO HURRICANE FIONA

Sunday, Oct. 16Pop-up Gaelic book sale & book launch for the 2nd edition of the children’s picture book Fionn MacCool and the Salmon of Knowledge by Terri M. Roberts, newly illustrated by Kyla Williams, cover by Etta Moffatt. At the Cottage Café in Dartmouth on Sunday afternoon, outdoors. Pop-up sale 10am-3pm, book launch 1-2pm.

Saturday, Oct. 22 – Book launch for Angus MacLeod’s new Gaelic graphic novel Dorsan at the Gaelic College’s Halloween Immersion Weekend, St. Ann’s, Cape Breton. We will also be having the Cape Breton launch of Fionn MacCool and the Salmon of Knowledge, 2nd edition!

Friday, Oct. 28 – Bradan Press will be exhibiting our Gaelic education resources at the Nova Scotia Social Studies Teachers Association annual conference in Halifax. We’ll also be co-presenting with the Atlantic Publishers Marketing Association about the exciting new website ABC – Atlantic Books in Classrooms!

Oct 28–30 – We’re thrilled to be vending for the first time at Hal-Con in Halifax, Nova Scotia—the biggest, geekiest science fiction convention in Atlantic Canada! Come say hi to us!  (By the way, just saying, Graham McTavish who plays Dougal Mackenzie on “Outlander” will be a convention guest on Saturday and Sunday…)

Nov 4–6Christmas at the Forum – the “Big One,” the longest-running Christmas craft show in Atlantic Canada! Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, three full days of Christmas crafts and local gifts at the Halifax Forum.

Nov 12–13Christmas at the Forum Boutique Show, a smaller curated show on Saturday & Sunday in the Halifax Forum Multipurpose Centre.

Nov 19–20Christmas at the Forum Boutique Show, a smaller curated show on Saturday & Sunday in the Halifax Forum Multipurpose Centre.

Dec 9–11 – A pop-up holiday book sale at the Gaelic College’s Christmas Immersion Weekend, St. Ann’s, Cape Breton!

Dec 17–18 – Hey, procrasti-taskers, the Last-Minute Christmas Craft Show is back and we’ll be there for your local last-minute holiday gift needs! Find us in the Maritime Hall of the Halifax Forum!
