Anne was born on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides and raised as a vernacular Gaelic speaker. She left the island to pursue a nursing career, which was cut short by the sudden passing of her mother. She returned home to care for her elderly father with her husband Tom and toddler daughter Amy. Anne then embarked on a new career in Gaelic pre-school education, which lasted for 23 years. During that time, she decided that a simple, original Gaelic pre-school book was needed, that could also be adapted into a play using the characters. At present Anne is working as a Gaelic development officer for Comunn nam Pàrant, working with various Mother and Toddler groups throughout Lewis and Harris delivering simple stories, songs and crafts through the medium of Gaelic.
