Happy World Read Aloud Day from all of us at Bradan Press!
Reading aloud is an amazing bonding experience. Whether you’re reading to a classroom, to your children, or to your family as a whole. It allows you to come together over a story and communicate. Bradan Press knows that literacy begins with teachers and families. These are the people who encourage a love of reading in children.
Bradan Press has a book to help you make even more memories, and not only will it connect children to Gaelic culture it’s also a fantastic classroom resource. Fionn MacCool and the Salmon of Knowledge is available in both English and French and teaches the story of the great warrior poet Fionn MacCool.
More than just a book, this “lesson plan in a box” engages students through reading aloud, gesture, and movement, and comes with a variety of free online teachers’ resources: pronunciation and demo videos, activity sheets, and background information that teachers can use to facilitate inquiry-based learning. But these resources aren’t just for teachers, you can implement them at home! They’re entirely accessible through the Bradan Press youtube channel, and the Fionn MacCool and the Salmon of Knowledge page on the Bradan Press website.
