Today is Saint Brigid’s Day! St. Brigid of Ireland, virgin and abbess of Kildare, is one of the patron saints of Ireland. Brigid is celebrated for her generosity and piety, with many of her miracles centered around healing and household tasks.
Otherwise known as Imbolc, a celebration of the beginning of spring, this traditional festival marks the beginning of spring and, historically speaking, was widely observed throughout Ireland, Scotland, and the Isle of Man. Today, it’s observed as far as Australia and New Zealand.
