Liet International on 13 April 2017 in Kautokeino, Norway

Earlier this month, Bradan Press author Marcas Mac an Tuairneir traveled with other members of the Inverness Gaelic Choir and musicians to Kautokeino, Sámiland in northern Norway to complete in the final of Liet International, the European songwriting competition for minority languages. (It’s like the Eurovision Song Contest but with no English and all European minority languages!)

The song which they performed, ‘Grioglachan’ (Constellation) was written by Marcas and Mary Ann Kennedy as a celebration of the life of Maggie Macdonald, a beloved member of the Inverness Gaelic Choir. The performance was broadcast live on Norwegian television. Read more about it here.
